But what happened next passed forever into legend. The spirit of Domivar himself – the son of Mescator and the hero who smote the Wicked Ones into the Abyss at the end of the God War, appeared before Bolisean, and asked him to repeat his oath, sealing it with his own blood in the sacred ground on which he knelt. Without thinking to pause, Bolisean sliced open his palm on the jagged end of his sword, allowing several drops to mix with the wet filth of the ground.
